Hit it!

We've been living a dream this week. My dad is going in on a boat, and we are reaping the benefits. The boys and I have been boating 3 times recently, and loving every minute of it. I'm glad to see that love of water has made it into my boys genes. They both like to tube! I'm so proud of them. Brendyn actually leaned too far off the back of the boat and fell in, and didn't even cry. He just started swimming. No worries, the boat was off and his life jacket was on. When I got him out I asked him if he was scared. He said no because he was just swimming really well, but he didn't like it because it was too cold. He also likes to go really fast on the boat. Ammon loves to honk the horn and "drive". I can hardly get them away from the steering wheel. I can't wait utill we go again!

Slip and Slide!

Our favorite thing to do at home is the slip and slide! It's a great way to cool off during this 100 degree weather. Brendyn and Ammon both jump right on, no qualms about getting wet whatsoever. Of course it might help that they see mom sliding on it too. What can I say, I'm still just a kid I guess. Here's to the slip and slide! May it hold up for summers yet to come.

Under the umbrella tree

This tree is Brendyn and Ammon's favorite place to play outside. Brendyn calls it his tree house. The branches used totouch the ground, but we had to prune it. Brendyn was a little sad about that, but got over it pretty quickly as you can see.

Best Bugs

Yay, Angela came to visit! She was here just for us, right Ang? The fact that her brother came home from his mission was just a side note. Well, whatever the reason, we're so glad we got to play together. We got the slip and slide out and all four kids had fun running around and playing in the water. I think Brendyn was showing off for Brinlee because he kept acting so silly and putting on a show. After that Brendyn and Brinlee dressed up as bugs and ran around the house with umbrellas. Brendyn is a ladybug, and Brinlee is a butterfly, but her wings are coming off so it's hard to tell. Brendyn has told me for days after that Brinlee is his friend and that she is fun to play with.

Happy Birthday Cordell

Happy 30th birthday Cordell!
To celebrate we got 30 balloons and let them off at the cemetary. The boys loved it. Brendyn went around saying "Happy Birthday Daddy!" all day. He wanted to know if his daddy could hear him say it, and if it made Daddy happy. Brendyn also wanted to make a special birthday card for him which we took with us to the cemetary. We went out for dinner and came home for rootbeer floats, most of which ended up in Ammon's lap. Brendyn had so much fun that he wants to know when daddy will have a birthday again.

4th of July

We had a great time this 4th of July, unfortunately I didn't get a whole lot of pictures. We started out the day at Willow Park in Logan seeing the animals and playing on the toys there. Later that evening we had a barbeque at Papa and Nanny's house then came to our place for some fireworks. The boys loved the fireworks, although Brendyn did cover his ears as a precaution. He hates loud noises. Afterwards Brendyn and I watched the city fireworks from our front lawn while Ammon slept. I was pretty amazed at how well we could see the fireworks. It was so nice to stay at home and not deal with the crowds! We'll watch them from here every year.

The Man I Love

I am taking a walk down memory lane. I've been thinking tonight about my best friend, my husband. Cordell and I always had so much fun together, and he always made me laugh. Just looking at these pictures makes me smile. The first one is of Cordell and Brendyn (9 months) at Lake Powell. We went with my family that year and had a blast. Just look at those two, peas in a pod! The next picture, well that's eggnog coming out of his mouth, and really, don't ask, that's just Cordell. Cordell loved to rock climb, and during our Lake Powell trip he brought out his climbing gear and went to it. It was the highlight of the trip for everyone. This is a picture of him climbing the slick sandstone there. Next is a picture of Cordell and Brendyn on a hike. He loved being out in nature, away from the world. He also loved being a daddy. One of his dreams was to marry and have a family. He lived that dream. He was also on the road to success for another dream. The last picture is his graduation from BYU-Idaho with a bachelor's degree majoring in biology and minoring in chemistry. He had been accepted to Optometry School and was excited about pursuing this new dream. I love to look back on these memories and think about what a great and noble man I have married. I am grateful that I can look back and have joy at the life we shared together and I look forward to being reunited again. Until that time I will never stop loving or missing him, but I feel like he watches over his little family here on earth.

Colorado

We just got through spending four days in Colorado to visit Grandma and Grandpa Preece, see their new house, and have a little reunion with the rest of the family. We had a great time! It was so fun to spend time with everyone. Brendyn did not want to leave. He has been asking me for the past 5 days when we are going back to Colorado. We had fun canoeing, playing at a water park, and just relaxing playing pool and riding bikes at Grandma and Grandpa's house. Brendyn's favorite part was the canoe and water park. Ammon's enjoyed chasing the dogs and stealing turns on the bike when Brendyn wasn't looking. We had so much fun and are looking forward to the next time we get to visit!

Is this thing on?

This is a trial run since I am new to this whole blogging world. I just want to see what I can do and how long it takes me to do it. Here is a picture of the boys "playing chess" among other things at Grandma and Grandpa Preece's house last week. They love to play together! In the words of Brendyn, "Ammon's my best friend", along with "When will Ammon be done with his nap? He'll sleep forever! It's been 20 hours.", said the boy 10 min. into his brother's nap.
